@Margaret: If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times. JS isn’t about the Jersey shore. It’s about Bennies. JS doesn’t offend me as a New Jerseyan, because quite frankly, these characters are who we thought they were.

So, Timmy. New Jersey’s illustrious leader–a man so great he blots out the sun–said this week w/r/t Jersey Shore:

“What it does is takes a bunch of New Yorkers… drops them at the Jersey Shore and tries to make America feel like this is New Jersey,” Christie said. “I can tell people: they want to know what New Jersey really is? I welcome them to come to New Jersey any time.”

As you have said so many times, you know Jersey. These people are being promoted as an image of New Jersey; a singularly unflattering image, in Gov. Christie’s opinion. For the love of your state, you should watch episodes and collect evidence for the state’s libel suit against the Jersey Shore kids. How they’re doing us wrong. Their behavior as supposed shore kids could provide enough fodder for this, even if they’re in Miami. I mean, they are still calling it “Jersey Shore.”

@Mairead: I also like the great work of literature idea. Like, which Shakespearean farce did this week’s episode illustrate and why. Timmy knows how to read. I think he’d be up to it.

@Timmy If the Jersey Shore kids had worried about being “prudent,” where would our society be today? I shiver at the thought.

Ok I’m spitballing: “Snooki” liveblog, guido rating system (points in meatballs), point-by-point comparison to another trashy TV show. Or great work of literature. You can do the heavy thinking on that one.

@Mairead: This is an excellent idea; my only problem is that the show airs on a school night. And I also don’t know how prudent it is to be broadcasting my binge drinking for the whole Intertubes to see.

@Margaret: I would gladly steal the reality index idea, except that this season is taking place in Miami, so I fear I might not have too much to say about how authentic anything is or is not.

ummm…you could use your Jersey cred to to a Daily Intel GG-esque reality index.

Or you could play King Solomon and settle JS arguments. Like, cast judgment. You’re good at that. I could explain more if you thought this was a good idea. But it’s not, so you won’t.
